Iran has strongly condemned a terrorist attack targeting a mosque in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran has strongly condemned a terrorist attack targeting a mosque in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad.

In a statement released on Friday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei denounced the attack, which struck worshippers during Friday prayers, leaving dozens of people killed and injured. He described the assault as a heinous act that violates basic human and religious values.

According to IRNA, Baqaei expressed Iran’s condolences to the Pakistani government and nation, as well as to the families of the victims, and prayed for the swift recovery of those wounded in the incident.

Reiterating Iran’s principled stance against terrorism, the spokesperson stressed that the Islamic Republic condemns all forms of terrorism and violent extremism. He also underlined the necessity of enhanced cooperation among regional countries to prevent and confront what he described as the “sinister phenomenon of terrorism.”
